Andy McLeish Chef Patron - Chapter One

Chapter One Restaurant Andy McLeish Born in Nottingham, Andy McLeish gained his Chef's Diploma at Clarendon College of Further Education. Following a brief spell at a small restaurant in Bray, he joined legendary chef Nico Ladenis at Simply Nico before transferring to the fine dining restaurant, Chez Nico in 1991 as Chef de Partie.

1993 saw McLeish move to iconic Hotel The Ritz as a Sous Chef. However, warmer climates beckoned and he decided to transfer to the Mandarin Oriental Baan Taling Ngam on the Thai island of Koh Samui as Senior Sous Chef.

After two years, he returned to London to work at The Dining Room in the Landmark Hotel. A few years later after being head hunted he moved to Kent to become the Executive Chef / Director at Chapter One.

Since Andy's arrival at Chapter One, the restaurant has gone from strength to strength winning a number of awards, including four AA rosettes and being named the 'AA UK Restaurant of The Year' for 2003/2004. It was the first time a restaurant had been awarded two major AA awards. Most recently Chapter One was named 'Restaurant of the Year' for the 2015 Kent Life and Kent on Sunday Food and Drink Awards.
